Here are a bunch of models / renders that I produced whilst working on the Guitar Hero Live franchise (2015) - Activision.
I would read EDGE magazine religiously when i was young, so it was fantastic to see the guitar on the front cover. This was certainly a highlight of my career.
Working closely with the design team, I produced ((MANY)) variations of the guitar throughout the development of GH LIVE. These designs were routinely sent off for 3D printing and then sent back for testing with the latest build of the game. We would then iterate on the design depending upon the comfort, feel and aesthetics. It was a big team effort. Seeing the guitar go from a plain white prototype, to holding the final product was a very rewarding process.
The images & videos were all rendered using 3DS Max (Corona), which in 2014/2015 was a big step up from Mental Ray in terms of faster render previews. I take this advancement for granted now. :D
